SYLVIA BROWNE FOUNDED NOVUS SPIRITUS IN 1986
In April 1986, Sylvia Browne embarked upon the most important chapter of her life. She founded a spiritual organization called Society of Novus Spiritus. This decision was a natural extension of her love for God and for all of humanity. Novus is Sylvia's monument to God, a forum to express the joy and love that is God - with no fear, no guilt, no sin, no hell, and no Satan. Through Novus, Sylvia gives the world a means to understand God, Life, and the reason for being.
Sylvia's life has always revolved around God, being raised and educated in the Catholic faith, then going on to teach in the parochial school system for seventeen years. In addition, she has an unparalleled psychic ability. Since her late teens, Sylvia has been using her gift to help thousands of people. This prophetic ability has been tested many times, and each test turns into another testimonial of paranormal cognition.
The end result of Sylvia's devotion to God, and her gift of prophecy, is Novus Spiritus. Combining His love, with direct revelation of His plan, creates a New Spirit and a new understanding about life. Is this new view of life true? Each individual must make that decision, for we always say, "Take what you want and leave the rest."
Yet the truth of Sylvia's words will become manifest of their own accord. When a person listens to the philosophy, and those words strike a chord of truth within the soul, then one must take heed. When those words have that familiar feeling of being correct, where the mind and heart say "that makes sense," then one must listen — for that is the God within asking for entrance to your mind. We believe that God can, and must, be understood.
World renowned spiritual teacher, psychic icon, author, and lecturer Sylvia Celeste Browne passed on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA. Born October 19, 1936, Browne was 77 years old.
BRIEF HISTORY
Sylvia began her professional career as a psychic on May 8, 1973 with a small meeting in her home. Within one year her practice had grown very large and she decided to incorporate her business as the Nirvana Foundation for Psychic Research. Wanting to make her work as professional as possible, then as now, Sylvia always held the required business licenses, was a member of a national consumer protection agency and donated a lot of time to charitable organizations, as well as working with police. Her business always remained in the same general vicinity since beginning her work.

Sylvia's family line includes several practicing psychics and mediums. Her maternal grandmother, Ada was an established and respected counselor and healer in Kansas City, MO. This familial psychic talent has also been passed on to her son, Christopher Dufresne. There seems to be a genetic component necessary to create exceptional psychics.
Sylvia's blood line carries that predisposition to excellence. As Sylvia says,
"Anyone can learn to play the piano, but not everyone is a concert pianist."
THOUGHTS FROM SYLVIA
These tenets make up a small, but concise, form of our beliefs. No, I should say rather, our knowing. We know them to be true, not only because years of research has replaced faith with knowing, but Francine, my Spirit Guide, has also given us vast information. But regardless of the source, the touchstone inside hears truth and you simply know without knowing why.
People have said to me, over my many years as a practicing psychic, "I don't know why, Sylvia, but this is something I've always believed, but did not know why." Others have said, "Why don't you start a religion?" which is another wind that filled the sail.
So after many years of tortuous visualization, on April 12, 1986 I stepped out on stage and stated very softly, "I am starting a new, world religion." It has always been inside of me, but "religion" has become a very harsh word. It carries dogma, rigid rules, and as stated in this book, devils, sin, and hell.
Novus Spiritus carries love, peace, staying on track, and the answers to what we thought were mysteries.
Novus Spiritus is religious without being religionistic. We are spiritual without being spiritualistic. Why then any religion? Because we want to minister to people. We want to be an "also" faith, not an "instead of." We want to have holistic centers, a hospice, a children's school, a crisis line, a home for the elderly, a haven for the dying. We do not want to be a hierarchy that is removed from the people, but a living body of people that moves and works together to reach our goal.
Why does Novus have a Sunday Service? Because it helps keep us on track. To accept truth keeps you free of guilt, illness, anxiety, and fear. To come together under one roof and collectively give love, support, and aid to each other is the way Christ wanted it. He wanted his apostles to go forth and preach the logic and love of God. He believed it was part of the new law that He came down to bring us.
Even more than early Christianity, Novus believes in life after life, which enhances Christianity and goes farther than any other religion. Novus takes the best aspects and truth from each religion. You will not find a "fear trap" in Novus, nor any enticement, or occult entanglement. Each time you attend Service you will feel better and be able to get through the week more easily. You will find your life falling into place and not plagued by fear, guilt, and failure. The other, and perhaps most important plus, is that you will shorten the number of lives you need to live.
Novus will help you stop the wheel of continual lives, so that you may go home and not keep coming back. Francine says that once the soul rids itself of "religious abnormalities," the soul is free to live happily through life, and make easier transitions to the Other Side (of course, because we then know where we are going).
Please accept this religion, as we have, as a golden gift from God. Do not pass up this chance in life to ascend to the top of the pyramid, finally unfettered and whole, the way we were intended to be, to love and work together.

A MEDITATION BY SYLVIA
THE PURPLE FLAME
Put your hands upwards on your thighs, rather than downward. I want you mentally to relax yourself, and start breathing in and out very regularly, simulating the rhythm of how you breathe when you sleep. Feel yourself becoming very relaxed. All the negativity is being released, almost like a spiritual baptism emanating throughout every single part of your body to create healing, to create the burning out of guilt, negativity and fear - especially healing the mind, body and spirit.
Let this surge of relaxation go right through the very bottoms of your feet, cleansing out any illness. Through the calves, knees, thighs, buttocks area and spinal column. Up through the whole trunk of the body, down through the shoulders, the upper arms, the lower arms, the hands, the fingertips. Up through the neck, the face, and behind the eyes.
Demand that all the negativity, anything that you have brought over from past lives that is causing phobias and illnesses, be rinsed clean. From this moment on, I guarantee that you are going to notice a difference. Spirituality is probably the most beautiful euphoria you will ever know. While you are sitting in this relaxed position, I want you to surround yourself or just ask for the bubble of Light to surround you. Just visualize or ask for it.
People say, 'I cannot see it.'
Yes, you can. Now, a purple flame engulfs you, almost like a lotus blossom. Put yourself in the middle of this purple flame. Purple is the color that really, really is a partner of spirituality. The color purple is the greatest emanation of spirituality. Once our mind and spirit are together, our body follows suit. Feel this purple flame rinsing out any past-life overlays, any of the negativity we have carried with us, any of the hurts, the vengeance - all the little secret pockets that we have felt left out, not wanted, persecuted, victimized, laboring through, lonely, isolated. Feel it vibrating, emanating, cleansing out sickness in mind, body and spirit.
Say to yourself, 'My spirit can never be sick. What I am carrying around as an overlay may be sick and heavy, but I am going to drop that right now with the power of the Holy Spirit and the Christ-Consciousness.'
